Neat Story:

For us, not a lot of action on our end, except the normal miracles now and again that make you glad to be on a mission. Like the one last night - I was thinking earlier in the day about what we should do with our time at 8:00 that night, because one of our appointments called and canceled. He said they were on vacation for a week. Anyway, I felt as I was thinking about that, that we should go and visit the referrals that we had received from the Hernandez family in the Hermosa Liahona ward. So, even though we had other plans when 8:00 came, I remembered that and so we went to visit this man, Ramon Martinez. He was home with his family, eating a late dinner outside. They stopped what they were doing in order to listen to us, and we spent over an hour, I think, on their driveway talking about the Gospel and
the importance of praying to know the truth from God, because he's the only one who can tell us, and also about some few questions they had about the Word of Wisdom and what missionaries were like. They were extremely gracious, and Ramon invited us back for Thursday night. Another thing about the meeting was that I felt that my Spanish greatly improved in fluidity during the meeting. I could explain myself easier, although I still had to pick my words sometimes.
The reason we're writing today, on Tuesday, is that we had temple service yesterday from 7:00 to 2:30. They had closed the temple, for a period of two weeks, and they were getting all the projects in landscaping, touching up, and remodeling done. They took out the huge front lawn - just ripped it up with some machine, and they had the missionaries gather the grass all together and toss it out. Also, we helped them take out the old lockers and stalls in the women's locker room. They're going to replace them all - there's hundreds and hundreds
of them! And with every block of lockers, you have to undo certain bolts and screws and take it apart a certain way. I hope the temple workers get more help, because even with 25 or so missionaries helping, we didn't get through that much of what there was left to do. But we had a great time. It's really interesting being able to be in the temple for other reasons. And in work clothes - it's very different, but there's still a subdued spirit in the temple - you don't act like you normally would under the circumstances.
