Matt's Mom has been a bit busy with a trip to SLC among other things and hasn't kept up Matt's website! I apologize and I will repent and try to do better!

The weather is starting to get warmer for Matt - has already reached 90! Matt says that he may have to invest in a camelback this summer! Last summer it stayed 110 for a long time!

Neat Story:
April 27, 2008 Hey, So this week has been crazy! We had a lot of worries with Gerber because he canceled on us twice, but then when we taught him about following the prophet and then asked if he would follow him he said he was totally for it. So all of our worries left. Now he has a competition with his daughter about quitting smoking. So the pics with the swords are with Jasmine and Gerber. Also with an investigator, Rosio, we found out that the reason she was struggling was that she doesn't believe in the B of M so now we know what to work on. I also got to go and talk to this one guy in one of the English Elders' English classes but all he would talk about is how the classes need to change. He wants the classes to translate everything from English to Spanish which makes learning a language so much harder. He was a little hard headed. Here is the crazy story. Elder Bradbury and I were contacting in downtown Madera, and a guy in English came up to us and said he took a bunch of pills and that he was committing suicide. So we went with him, and tried talking him out of it. We talked to him about love, and the love God and Christ have for him. At one point he tried to take more pills and we had to physically stop him, then he just started to shut down. Thankfully a cop pulled up and called an ambulance. Apparently he had taken almost 80 prescription muscle relaxers. So we had to stay there as the cops filled out reports, so now like half of the Mexicans in Madera probably think we are Cops! It’s crazy the different ways God uses us to affect other peoples' lives. I'm so grateful that the Lord could use me in that way. So our pool is not so great but we are having a showing of the Testaments and are inviting as many as we can so we'll see how that goes.
So you got my package-that’s good. So can I delete the MTC pics from my memory card? Oh I got the package from The Cunninghams, Baxters, and Ludlow Clans, that was pretty cool, and I'm grateful for it. So you did some yard work, we did some too. We pulled this lady’s weeds. I'm going to try and get some good recipes but one thing that is weird is that the food is great here but I wish I could just have some white people food every once in a while!
