D&C 58:3-4
"Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
"For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand."
Neat Story:
It’s been a good week in Almere. We have just one week left until transfers. That means P-Day will be on Tuesday next week, so get your e-mails in early. We don’t have any information on Mother’s Day yet, but I’ll let you know next week hopefully. It’s been getting quite hot here. It’s been getting close to 20 degrees, and out in the sun with our suits and the humidity, it’s hot! Twenty degrees is a mere 70 for all of you, but it’s hot here! Keukenhof, there’s not much to say about it, it’s flowers. We got pretty sick of the flowers after a while, but there are some sweet videos and pictures that I took that you’ll all enjoy pretty well. I’ve been using my camera a lot more, so I’m sure you’ll all find some things you enjoy on there.
So Anthony, our new baptismal date, we dropped him. He was in it all for political gain and we had a lesson with him where we really talked about what it was, and he hasn’t had contact with us since. With one baptismal date lost, we did get another one! Jue, the girl who has the problem with marijuana, is taking on the Word of Wisdom challenge and is planning on being baptised on June 14. We’ve just had some amazing spiritual experiences with her. Elder Carey and I work fantastic together and we’re very bold with people. We go off a basis of the Book of Mormon and then we tell them what it really means. We have seen people’s whole view on life change because of it, and we’ve had people realize they weren’t that serious about it and drop us. We can only be so bold with some people, but little innocent Jue, we were WAY bold with her. We visited her last Thursday or so when we taught her the Word of Wisdom. We showed up on Friday and taught her again. We showed up Saturday night and a guy was there. We taught him a restoration lesson and Jue was testifying the WHOLE time, it was basically like she was our Joint Teach for the lesson. She loves the Book of Mormon (in Portuguese) and the restoration of the priesthood. She’s coming along slowly but surely and hopefully she’ll be able to be keeping the word of wisdom by June 14 as she enters into the waters of baptism to make a covenant with her Father in Heaven.
