Neat Story:
I grew up in 2 different churchs, the LDS church with my dad and the Church of Christ with my mom. I was baptized in our church when I was 8, but until I graduated high school I went to church at both places. Confusing! In high school and growing up it was easier for me to not really care about either church because at that point in my life I felt that I would be choosing one parent over the other and I didn't want to do that. So it wasn't until I was at Colorado State University for my first year of college that I felt kind of empty, like something was missing. At the time I had no idea what it was, but it is very clear now. Someone got my name from my bishop back home and they invited me to institute. It literally changed my life. It's funny how something I thought I knew my whole life seemed so new and amazing to me at 18 years old. It filled a void and from that point on I have never looked back. My want to serve a mission started soon after but because of my family situation I never felt like it was possible, so it was more of a dream than a reality to me. It wasn't until I moved to Oklahoma (for school) that things started to fall into place, I finally had the support of extended family ( I live with my aunt and uncle here) and friends that I actually prayed about going. My decision ultimatly stems from this....I have never in my life been happier than I am now with the light of the gospel in my life and I want others to feel my happiness
