I have loved and completed an honorable mission and am back home, now! I am so glad that I made the choice to serve the Lord for two years.
Favorite Scripture:
Alma 5:45-46: And this is not all. Do ye not suppose that I know of these things myself? Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety? Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by this Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.
Neat Story:
We found a way cool guy just off good old tracting, as we knocked he came and told us to come in before we said anything—he told us that he knew Mormons were going to knock on his door, he could just feel, and we did. His name is Darrel. He is about 50, really humble guy, a minister for non-denominational church and doesn’t really like it, though. He is really committed to reading the Book of Mormon and coming to church which he of course accepted. He understands it all and likes it all and is humble towards it all. We just need him to know it all. He actually said for our next meeting he wants it somewhere quiet and peaceful so he can think. So we’re meeting at our church. We will see how it goes. I really hope we find a lot more people though. After we found him I felt like I didn’t want to stop, just wanted to keep going. We’ll see how good he really is soon I hope.
We met with him again and he talked most of the time, he’s a big southern talker, but it was kind of good because he opened up to us. He said he felt like he could trust us and he felt like he needed to talk to us so he did. We had little time to get what we wanted across, but we did and he gets what he has to do and understands it all and said that he knows there is no way someone could just right the Book of Mormon but he does want to put it to the test to see if it is the same gospel as within the Bible, as he quoted Galatians 1.
