Neat Story:
Justin is doing great in Manaus - he loves missionary work! Here are some of his comments from the last month or two - "I have personally baptized 4 people (this was way back in Feb.), and have seen over 20 people baptized in our area alone. We are all doing pretty well. We had more people to baptize, but not yet...we are hoping. We are working with a couple of families, one of which I am sure will get married and baptized, it's just a matter of if I get to see it before I am transferred. I have been working with them for about 2 months now, so I hope I get to see all 3 of them baptized. We have others that we are working with, that will get baptized, but its just a matter of when. There's a possibility of two this Sunday, but we will see, they have a problem with coffee, so if they can stay away from that, it will be awesome. Some random numbers, if we get to work all day, we can teach about 10 lessons in a day, and that includes the time used to walk an hour each way for lunch and etc...the people here are really accepting of our message. We don't have a hard time getting into houses, just getting people to come to church. That's our biggest problem...(here he's talking about where they had been living & that they were moving to a different house)...we have been living without electricity & water for the past two weeks, so it will be nice to have lights at night! We have been taking showers in the dark from a bucket filled with street water from who knows where, that we haul in and dump over our heads with a bowl. Our fridge is plugged in by an extension cord, but we have no lights or anything to help at night. We wash clothes by hand, dishes by hand outside by a tub thing, etc...a very interesting and unforgettable life for the past two weeks...Just for some fun numbers, it didn't drop below 80 last night in our house, and yesterday at 7 o'clock it was already 93 outside. At 9:30 it was over 112 and climbing. My guess is it was around 120-125 yesterday. It was really hot! And we are just in April, I can't wait until I see the temps in July!"
