What did you take away from personal study this morning? I read in Helaman 12. It was a bit sobering. Wild to think that the only thing that will humble a hardened people is war death and pestilince.
Weirdest Food Eaten:
he loves all the food
Most Missed Food:
doesn't seem to be missing any
P-day activities:
Andrew's P-Days are on Tuesday. He still has to go into the offices to answer phones in the morning. They stay in the office til noon and they can go do their pday things
Favorite Scripture:
3 Nephi 13:31-33
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 For your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
Neat Story:
this is from Andrew's last email:
Dear todos
Busy. But stoked. Today is a semi normal pday. meaning we get to leave at 1200 to start other pday stuff. We will probably get to play vb with a group of other elders today too. Sadie a frosh and Matlin a junior. wow. this is crazy. is matlin doing any sports? i only remember a few things about my wisdom teeth expierence. A spanish lady puting the gas on me ( i think) then mom helping me put gauze in, then seeing some other people. Its all pretty blurry. fun tho.
1.) What kinds of things do you do in the office? I sit in my rolly chair and spin around. jk. i make files and labels and folders and things for the new misisonaries that the church tells us we are getting. I put them in our computer system and send letters to their familes about how we know they are coming and such. I arange travel plans for elders going home and send letters to their stake presidents and such. Funny thing is in a few months ill do my own plans haha. i send the baptismal information to church headquaters and write reports for the stakes in our mission. And some other things. They keep me busy. I get to see president alot which is cool.
4.) What was the most spiritual thing that happened to you in the last week? During fast and testimony meeting one of our investigators got up and bore her testimony of her love of the lord and how she has felt the spirit in the lessons and at church. It was really cool. She looked over at me about mid meeting and said, 'hey, can i go up there too?'. i told her she was more than welcome then a few min later she said Im goin up! haha
5.) What was the craziest thing that happened to you in the last week? President Sexton came up to me about 20 min ago and showed me his phone with dads number on it. I thought that was pretty funny.
10.) What is one thing about President Sexton (the mission president) that you admire? President Sexton can love someone to obedience. When he teaches or asks us to do something or comits us to use a new teaching technique he does it with such love and with so much of the spirit that it creates a desire to be obedient and to not let him down. He could look a zone in the eyes and ask us to go to war for him and i'd do it. He is the most Christlike person I have ever met. I feel super blessed to be here and to learn from him.
Happy fathers day to Pa and to poppy. you two are awesome.
If the Lord trusts that we can give up time to work in the office and be successfull in the work we can do it. So one way or another we will do it. the Work will roll forth with or without us. So you might as well be on the train and roll with it. Its funner that way. The church is true.
Love you tons. Untill next week.
