Neat Story:
This last week was so hard once again. no one wanted to listen to us.
i donīt know what it is. but we made it through and started fresh
on monday and had more success monday and tuesday then in the whole last
week. we changed a few things and my comp and i have been more
obedient with the little things. it has helped a lot. I had been starting
to pray at every moment throughout every lesson and contact...but we
just still couldnīt get people to listen. But i realized the other day
when i was reading and studying about prayer how in the bible dictionary
it says taht many prayers are unanswered because they arenīt in
christīs name and they are for selfish reasons. So i thought about how
when i am praying with every house that we knock, etc. i think that i am
desiring to enter there house because i want to teach, i am tired and
want to sit down, i want to have investigators, and i donīt want to get
flack from the leaders if we donīt have any new investigators that
week...but that way of thinking is way wrong. And sure i desire their
salvation but when you are hot and tired you just want to find someone to
find someone. so i have been changing the way of thinking and praying
for that matter in every lesson and every contact and house we
knock...that really this is their chance, maybe their only chance to hear the
gospel and they need to hear it and accept it in order to return to
heavenly father. we have found some new investigatores this week and i
feel that although some donīt accept still we are having more success
because i am working in a different way in terms of motivation and also
with obedience. i think with a certain time in the mission one can just
get comfortable and a house to knock is just another house to knock.
But with my change of attitude and heart, i look forward to the rest of
my time here in the city that is full of hard hearted people.
we had that activity on friday with our zone. it went alright, i think
we all thought that more people would come. we did a lot of contacts
by the beach. my comp and i talked to everyone!!! but we talked to
this one lady, just to invite her to see a movie at the chapel with info
about the church that was playing in an hour, and she went off about
how she is evangelical or something. and how there are no such things as
churches, we are the churches ???? and how we need to find the truth
because she has found christ. i explained how we believe in christ,
etc. but she goes off about how there is only the bible and we canīt
believe books written by men or what men say.....i was just like we donīt
believe men we invite all to pray about it and ask god.....she was so
mean and she just told us how we need to one day find the truth...we
just told her we had the truth and then left because she was so awful.
