They've got 4 or 5 investigaors all ready for baptism, most likely next transfer! Yay! Things are going great. Their mission is concentrating on really teaching to members how to teach their friends by role-playing, so they've spent a lot of time doing that with them. Fun! It will fun to see if Chelsea stays where she is next week or where she gets sent to. It's always a wonder every 6 weeks when you're a missionary, isn't it? Posted by: shelly Date: May 9, 2008
Went to Kirtland this week for training with the new Director -- ALL the Kirtland Sister were there. She says it was amazingly wonderful and is so excited to go! 4 (Four) of their investigators came to church on Sunday, and loved it. They're all full of questions, people there were nice to them -- she feels that Heavenly Father is truly blessing the area. Helped with a missionary fireside with President Peterson and the Stake President on Sunday -- she and Sister Haynie gave the final workshop and they were really happy with it. They also had a great Zone Conference. It was just a wonderful week! Posted by: shelly Date: May 1, 2008
Teaching several very strong and interested people right now. Their Kenyan investigator came to Stake Conference and got to hear Elder Bruce Hafen. He loved it! Afterwards, they, along with a couple who have been fellowshipping him, were invited to his home for a Kenyan feast! Chelsea loved it, of course. Life is good. Going to Kirtland in a couple of weeks for training. Will most likely be transferred there in May. Posted by: shelly Date: April 26, 2008
There's been a setback with the lady that was getting baptized, but Chelsea says this will help her in the long run. Too bad! But, on a happier note, they are now teaching a wonderful family that LOVES the Sisters and are hanging on to everything they're teaching them! They also got a member referral for a lady that lives on a farm with her husband. She's awesome, and her aunt was a Mormon! They get TONS of questions about the stuff going on in Texas. Ahhh! "The media drives me nuts! First, the PBS "documentary" on Mormons which keeps coming on, and now this! EVERYONE asks about it."
Chelsea is so grateful to those who write her letters. It makes her so happy to hear how everyone's doing! She is motivated, and is incredibly happy being a missionary. She's grateful to Heavenly Father for giving her the blessing of having no fear to "open her mouth" to share their message. Posted by: shelly Date: April 17, 2008
Well, exciting news! Lois, their investigator, the lady with the cottage in the woods, has set a date for baptism! They're all so excited. The young man that was supposed to go to General Conference couldn't, but they now have an appointment with the entire family for Thursday!
Sadly, the children they've been teaching are going to go live with their other grandmother, and won't be allowed to learn of the gospel any more, or go to church. Chelsea's so sad about that, but hopes they will remember how much they loved learning about it.
They have a new investigator. He is from Kenya, and has his own mining company!
"Who would have known that on my mission I would be teaching so many people from all around the world!?" Posted by: shelly Date: April 9, 2008
Today's e-mail was full of interesting stories and information! She and Sister Haynie have 2 people they were committing to baptism this week, and Satan pulled out all the stops. Isn't it amazing? But when you think about how miserably his plan fails if one more person joins the Gospel and follows the Lord, I guess we know why he tries so hard to foil them! (Sorry for going on and on -- this is supposed to be Chelsea's website!) Anyway, they're working through the obstacles, and staying happy and full of hope. She's definitely ready for some sun. Had enough of Winter, for sure.
She LOVES getting letters, so don't forget to write her, please! I'm thinking the letters are even more important now than they were at the beginning of her mission. Like most things, the interest in updating kind of dwindles about halfway through! She wants you to know she LOVES you all, and is so thankful for all your prayers on her behalf, and the behalf of the people in Ohio searching for the truth! Posted by: Shelly Date: April 2, 2008
Chelsea says that time is going way too fast! She LOVES hr mission, and loves her companions, Sister Haynie and Sister Madsen. They have so many great investigators in North Olmsted. Chelsea's been told she'll be going to Kirtland to work starting this transfer or the next. She hopes she gets to stay at least one more because they're teaching so many neat people and doesn't feel ready to leave yet. If any of you go to Kirtland this summer, make sure you request Sister Norton for a tour! Posted by: Shelly Date: March 20, 2008
It's FREEZING in Ohio right now! Well, much lower than freezing, even. Things are going fantastic in the area, with Chelsea and Sister Haynie teaching so many, and such a variety of people. Chelsea is so happy to be there and continues to LOVE the people she meets. Elder Bruce Hafen is coming there to speak in a couple of weeks, so they're excited about that. She shares her love for Ama 7:10-15, where it talks about Jesus Christ and the Atonement -- how He took upon himself, not only our sins, but also our pains and our sicknesses. "So many people don't know that! He loves us all so much!" Posted by: Shelly Date: February 27, 2008
Sister Norton - I'm here at OPMS, thinking about when you worked as an aide in my classroom and how all of the 8th grade boyz that I taught were wildly in love with you! Guess what . . . the 8th grade boyz I teach now are just the same! I miss you! Keep up the hard work! Posted by: Laurie McBride Date: February 12, 2008
I know -- it's weird that I keep changing around the order of the pictures, and losing cool commens on them! Darn! Other missionaries' pics keep ending up on here (some bug in the system), and when I delete them, we lose Chelsea's picture that it replaced, along with the comment(s). Sorry! I think it's fixed now. If you want to knock off a day or two with your letter, you can write me an e-mail and I'll give you her actual current address. Otherwise, go ahead and send it to the mission office listed, and thy forward it to her. Thanks! shelly.norton@gmail.com Posted by: Shelly Date: January 29, 2008
For those who are reading this and don't know Sister Norton, she's from Oceanside, CA, originally from Ramona -- both in San Diego County. She's been on her mission since August 2007. She is teaching the gospel to people in the Ohio Cleveland Mission and will also serve in the Kirtland Ohio Historic Sites. She LOVES being a missionary and loves everyone she meets, and wants to share the gospel with each of them. She's been an amazing missionary all of her life, and is so grateful to be doing it full time for 18 months! Posted by: Shelly Date: January 29, 2008
HI FROM OHIO.... Posted by: DREW Date: January 29, 2008
Chelsea is only allowed to use the internet for e-mails to family, but if you'd ever like to post comments on here, I'll regularly print these out and send to her. She'd love to see what you have to say -- me too! Posted by: Shelly Date: January 25, 2008
Guess what! Dearelder.com is going to feature Chelsea's website as the website of the month during February, on the Dear Elder home page! Cool, huh? She'll be the first "Sister" that they have featured! Be sure to check it out, come Feb.! Posted by: Shelly Date: January 25, 2008
If you saw some RANDOM pictures in her Photos section this week, I don't know where they came from! I think some other mission website got mixed up somehow with hers, so I deleted them, but it deleted the ones of her that were replaced by the random ones! Oh, well. If you see some goofy Elder, with something all over his face, -- well, it's not Chelsea! Just so you know... Posted by: Shelly Date: January 20, 2008
Chelsea is working really hard, as usual! She's the "older" companion in North Olmsted, in the same ward with the Mission Pres. and the Stake President! I think she misses the personality of Kent, but it's fun to be challenged in the suburbs of Cleveland. She loves the ward members and just got a referral from a family for their son's teacher, so they're looking forward that! They taught a man the Word of Wisdom, which is a pretty rough lesson, but Chelsea asked him if he felt he would have problem with any of it, and he said he thinks he could eat meat a little more sparingly! "Ha ha! It was great!" Posted by: Shelly Date: January 16, 2008
Wow -- Chelsea's been transferred for the first time. She thought she might be. In her e-mail today she sounded so sad for leaving, but really excited and happy for her new adventures! I looked at a map, and North Olmsted is on the other side of Cleveland, in a really nice, upper class area. Chelsea said her apartment is just down the street from the Mission Home. I guess she'll be really getting to know Pres. and Sister Peterson well! I'll keep you posted. Posted by: Shelly Date: January 9, 2008
Chelsea was totally sick with the flu on New Year's Eve.How sad! She's loving being a missionary so much. Right now she's wondering if she'll be transferred on Wednesday -- I think she hopes she's not, because they're teaching so many wonderful people. But, she'll definitely be happy and make a difference wherever she goes! I'll keep this updated with any new address changes... Posted by: Shelly Date: January 3, 2008
Sister Norton and Sister Stephan are having a blast together! They both LOVE teaching, and they got 11 new investigators last week....that was after getting 13 the week before!! Go Sisters!!! Kent Ohio will never be the same. Posted by: Shelly Date: December 13, 2007
For those interested, Chelsea just got her mission driver's license -- she's the driver now! We're dying to talk to her on Christmas. She says she probably can only make one phone call! Does that mean conference calling??

Chelsea is doing so fantastic! She's happy and so busy finding and teaching. She got a new companion, Sister Stephen, from Riverside, CA, and loves her! She says she's cute, fun, and little. She's only been out one transfer longer than Chelsea. Kent Ohio isn't going to know what hit them! Posted by: Shelly Date: November 29, 2007

Chelsea is living right by Kent State University and loves it! She and her companion are teaching so much, to so many people! She loves tracting! She says \"you never know who\'s going to be behind that door!\" Posted by: Shelly Date: September 19, 2007
We don't know yet where Chelsea's been assigned, but we know she's in Ohio! She got to call us on Wednesday morning from the Salt Lake Airport. She sounded fantastic and very excited! Posted by: Shelly Date: September 7, 2007
