Josh has had a lot of success in Canton Ohio. He has served as a Zone Leader with Elder Carter who went home in October and is now serving with Elder Steadman. They have been blessed with many baptism in this area. He found out during last transfers that a man he was teaching in Euclid was baptised a few weeks ago. We had the privilege of attending Elder Carters homing coming talk, a wonderful Elder. A couple of weeks ago we recieved a phone call from a Member in Josh's area that was baptised a year. She told us what a wonderful young man and an outstanding missionary Elder Pappas was. Josh's mom talked to her for a long time and was just beaming with excitement as she told her about our Missionary. Posted by: Greg aka Dad Date: December 4, 2007
Elder Pappas doesnt stay in one area for very long. Since our last post Josh served as a didstrict leader in Ashtabula, Ohio. He was also Training Elder Miller from Idaho. They had a lot of success in Ashtabula. The Ward was awesome and the area is just off Lake Erie with many old wooden covered bridges you see in the movies. They baptised a young lady and she will be a great member of the church. He was transferred to Euclid Ohio. His apartment was 12 miles from the Kirkland Temple and the Ward he served in was in the Kirkland Stake. His compaion was Elder Liebahardt from Reno Nevada. They were blessed with two baptism's. Just an awesome experience to see these two enter the water of baptism and make those sacred covenants with Heavenly Father. The night he recieved a phone call telling him he would be transferred on Thursday they challenge a family they are teaching for baptism, and they accepted the invitation. Josh was tranferred Sept 7 to Canton, Ohio and is serving as a Zone leader with Elder Carter. Posted by: Dad Date: September 16, 2007
Currently serving in Garfield heights ohio. A suburb of Cleveland. Elder Arias from San Diego is his companion. They are having a lot success in teaching. Recently the had almost 20 investigators at church between all the missionaries serving in the Ward. A lady that they are teaching stood up and bore her testimony, about how she knew the church was true. Everyone in the Ward thought she was a member. Her and her husband baptismal date is set. His first companion in this area was Elder Williams, they had a baptism just before Christmas. Elder Pappas writes "dispite all the obastacle she is having in life, the sisters in the ward are fellowshipping her and she is staying faithful." Posted by: Dad Date: March 29, 2007

Excerpts from Elder Pappas' letter to his family.
Hey Family, There is so much to tell you. When we got off the plane we met President Peterson, he is really a nice guy and very awesome. We went to the Johnson Farm and got to go into the room Joseph Smith did some of the translations of the Book Of Mormon. We talked about some of the amazing things that happened in that room and the house. The next day we got to go to the Kirkland Temple. It was really awesome to go inside the Temple and see some of the places we just hear stories about. We sang "The Spirit of God" in one of the Chapels and stood in the room where Christ appeared and accepted the Temple. Then we traveled to the Newell K Whitney Store. In the upper room of the store is the School of the Prophets. This room was awesome and the same spirit that you feel in the Temple was felt in this room. In this room and in all the other rooms we talked about how Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared at the same time. There is only four times that is known to have happened and documented. Three are in the Ohio Cleveland Mission, of course you know where the other place is! My Companion/trainer is Elder Parker from Arizona. He is an awesome Missionary, and he is on his last transfer. The coolest thing is he was trained in Fremont and now he has come back to Fremont to end his mission and to train me. We are both being transfered to Fremont together. We have a great apartment and I already love the area and the People. We have meet so many great people so far and we have some investigators committed to coming to Church on Sunday. Oh before I forget, I need two more short sleeve shirts, its kind of humid here and long sleeve shirts don't work to well until winter. I love it here and we are working hard, keep on reading and praying. Love Elder Joshua Ferron Pappas Posted by: Elder Pappas Date: August 30, 2006
