How does DearElder.com get my letter to my missionary?

We simply mail your letter to your missionary through the U.S. Postal Service. We mail letters every afternoon (Monday-Friday) at 12:15 pm so make sure your letter is in by 12:00 noon.

How much does does it cost to use DearElder.com?

Each letter you write to the mission will require the standard rate for postage.

The only way you can use our service to write to the mission is by making a credit card deposit into your DearElder.com account. Deposits can be made from your account page after you create your own DearElder.com account.

A $10 deposit will provide you with enough postage for about 5 months if you write every week to a stateside mission. That same deposit will last 2-3 months if you are writing to an international mission.

What advantages are there to using DearElder.com to write a missionary?

  • Provo MTC missionaries and Utah missionaries will receive thier mail much faster as a result of our close mailing proximity. This especially applies to those who live outside Utah and have a 2-6 day delay in their mail to Salt Lake.

  • DearElder.com makes writing your missionary much more convenient. It is much easier for most people to sit down and type out a letter--and simply hit send--than it is to write the letter by hand, stick it in an envelope, search for a stamp, and try to run it to the mail box or post office.

  • Your missionary will actually be able to read what you wrote. --Joke

  • DearElder.com makes communication much easier for busy people and younger siblings who find it more difficult to stay in touch with a missionary.

  • It makes communicating much easier for those who travel a lot.

  • It's cheaper than normal mail because we pay for the envelope, paper, and ink.
