2 Nephi 25:26
And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins.
Neat Story:
This week went by pretty fast, we are already half-way done with the transfer.
We taught this one person named Marcia and she might be a pretty good investigator, it might be hard for us to meet with her because she is always in and out and she might go to the singles ward missionaries.
On Friday, I ran into Jesu's from Jesu's and Selena former investigator's that I had taught. He is doing alright and was really happy to see me. We had stopped teaching them, because they hadn't kept commitments and they were seperating. It was nice to get to see him again.
On Saturday, we found a new investigator named Robert don't know how it will go yet. Also on Saturday I had a funny experience that happens sometimes on the mission. As missionaries we talk to everyone and ask them if they are interested. Sometimes when we talk to Spanish people they use the excuse that they don't speak English and then we start talking in Spanish. It always catches them offguard and they listen with the 'you caught me' look on their face. One person I talked to told me as she was walking away that she didn't speak English, even though I was speaking Spanish. I guess she really didn't want to listen. Sometimes people say that they don't speak English but you can tell they speak perfectly fine and you catch them by talking in Spanish. That happened on Saturday. The lady was more comfortable in Spanish but she understood English and when we started going in Spanish she actually listened and had a conversation. It is pretty cool knowing two languages.
On Sunday we went to Sis. Padillas family BBQ and it was really fun. There were so many street parties that we didn't get a lot of missionary stuff done and on the way home there were so many ground fireworks going off that it felt like a war zone (kinda).
Yesterday, we finally got ahold of James, who we have talked to for a few months but mostly just stopping by, and finally had a real lesson. He is super hard to catch like a lot of the people here. I am so glad that we can be directed as we plan, so that we can find people in the busy California city area.
Also on Monday we got to meet president Bubert. He is really awesome as is his family. He is a little less intense than President Sexton, but I am sure he will do great. He has a strong testimony and is someone that you can trust and follow. We had some get to know you stuff and we got to learn a little about them. They have two adopted 14 year olds from Guatamala that are going to be out here with them. Sis Bubert is also really nice. President and Sister Bubert met on there mission in Equador and both of their Spanish is still really good.
Anyway, that is it for this week. I hope that y'all had a nice fourth of July and have a nice coming week.
Adios,
Elder Kline
