This is from Chad's family email on Sept 29, 2008:
Our baptisms on saturday were pretty awesome! Just a fact that miracals DO happen! I will now relate an experience! So, the sister Adela, one of the sisters we baptised, had a REALLY bad problem with smoking! It was a long road to get here to be worthy to be baptised! At the start of the transfer the mission gave me and Elder Larson the goal of two baptisms for the transfer! It really hit me that this was an inspired goal given to us from God and that it meant that there were two people in our area that Heavenly Father had prepared for us to find and baptise! Well, all was set for both baptisms but, a week before the 27th, Adela smoked again! The rule is you can not smoke within 2 weeks of your date or you have to reschedule it! So, we had to put her date back and we were not going to fulfill these two baptismal goals! But, me and Elder Larson both felt that it was a goal from God and that we need to fulfill it and that it was possible! We prayed and fasted! We called and talked to our president about it and he said he felt something different about her! He told us to talk with the bishop of the ward and see what he said! we talked with the bishop and we decided to pray about it together with him! As we prayed as to what we should do, all three of us felt prompted that it was ok for her to be baptized and that the baptism would help her to stay on the right path! We called our president and he said fe felt the same! Long story short, we baptised them both the 27th. I know that this was a miracal that we could fulfill our commitment to Heavenly Father and to see her enter into the waters of baptism! Since saturday she has become a totally different person! It is AMAZING to see that change in other peoples lives! So many times God grants us miracals but we are just to blind to see them! I am So grateful for my Heavenly Father and my relationship with him!
