Favorite Scripture:
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.
Neat Story:
HOLLA! , dont worry about me being in the ghetto, its where my people live! I
love the people
in this area! This area is only worse with gangs cuz they dont respekt like they
should. The Thuggs and Gangstaz in Compton, according to Elder Folkersen,
hardcore love the missionaries. They call em "Jesus People!" Its so cool! i hope
i get to go there sometime in the 2 years. The only bad part about it is that
you dont actually stay in comptown because its way ghetto. But oh well!
So the weekly update! Duh duh duhhhhh! Drum roll... We watched finding
faith with The Castro family, ill have to take pictures with all my
investigators so that i can show you what they look like, the Castro
family and Kolo are probably my favorite investigators right now. I made a
pinky promise to Emily Castro (14) to come back and play guitar hero with her
after the
mission. The Castro Family is a single mother family, the moms name is Irma,
then from oldest to youngest is: Millie 17, Henry 15 (he plays guitar and likes
same music as i do so i told him ill come back and jam with him after too),
Emily 14, and Chris 10. They are sooooo AWESOME!!!! i would go crazy if they
dont get baptized the only problem is that millie wasnt there on june 2nd, so
yesterday when we taught lesson 3 which is when we were supposed to commit to
baptism, but Folkersen forgot! its probably for the better tho. Millie wasnt
there. and we still have the opportunity to commit them again with the
commandments!!! HOLLA! We taught them last night and it was a super spiritual
lesson! like i told them that i know that we need to be baptized and receive the
holy ghost to live with our families forever and then i told them about uncle
randy and then everyone started paying way good attention, cuz emily doesnt
usually but she sat up and started to, and i told em that its the only way to
live with our families
forever and i started crying. it just went so well except for forgetting to
commit to baptism! DANG!
