Yep! I´m back in Fortaleza! I was transferred, along with of few fellas from my
MTC group, to Maracanaú, just outside of Fortaleza. I´m still a Zone Leader,
which is rad cuz now I´m in contact with Elder Sims, Christensen, and Woodland
like every day now!!! My new comp is a Gaucho (meaning from the South of
Brazil), Elder Nardon. He´s a stud, and has more time than I do on the
mission... like all my comps have had, but (as pointless as it is to be called a
senior companion, cuz its a joint effort in everything) I´m senior still. We
were all thrown here to wake a sleeping giant!!! I´m already loving my area and
I haven´t even left to teach yet! There´s tons of youth that visited us
already, they´re all studs!!!
So about my last week in Parnaiba: We went right back to the Ghetto and
finished the movie, I'm not scared! This time, the drunk sat with me--side by
side-- but he was sober. I really hope it all works out with him. The activity
was going great, until the rain came. I prayed with the faith of Isaias to stop
the rain, but it was the Lord´s will that we all finish the movie inside of the
home of a recent convert (instead of in the middle of the road). It was awesome
and we felt a great sense of unity in the people, and invited them all to
church... and like 20 of them showed up!!! It was a little strange, cuz they´re
not used to being reverent; other than that it all turned out to be a great
experience and, after having our faith tried, finally saw the results. I hope
Elder Simoes can finish off the miracles there, I´m sure he will. He is an
OUTSTANDING comp.
The Elder that will take my place in P-Town is from Kell´s ward in Salt
Lake, Elder Allsop (which I love explaining the meaning of his name in Portugues
to the members).
HUGE SHOUT OUTS to my boys Kellen, Taylor, Morgan, and your families. Becky
hooked me up with like 50 ties, and candy, which is more than superfluous! I
haven´t had time to read the rest of the letters, but I´ll read them and send
shouts next week. Coco, and the P´s love keeping me updated, congrats to the
SSSensations, my boys and my girls!!! Coach Hunt´s still the same genious! Mom
and Dad don´t freeze pleez.
It wasn´t nearly as hard to leave this time, but it was still rough to say
goodbye to so many friends. I´m glad the friendships are eternal too! I love
this work and I´m super humbled by the confidence that the Lord has put in me
to put this OTHER zone back on track. I know the Lord is behind this work and
that through him ALL IS POSSIBLE... just think, He walked on water!!! Until I
pull that off, I´ve gotta keep getting better and better, every day! Love to
all, time to work!
