Neat Story:

By the way, with the David A. Bednar deal, Here is the report. He started off with a prophecy. He said, you will NEVER forget your Christmas Eve at the MTC. I think he is right....Actually I KNOW he is right. When Elder Bednar spoke it was as though angels came to minister to all of us as we listened. He spoke about symbols of Christmas. He said that his hope is for us to NEVER look at these symbols the same way ever again. I personally don't think I will be able to. He spoke on trees, lights, and Shepard's. It was very educational and spiritual. He first started out with trees. He had us open up to Lehi's vision. He had us read to when he partook of the fruit. He stopped us and was like whoa. Stop there. What did it say? We were like...tree...duh. Ha ha. He said, now what did it say about it? "The love of God" Then he said.."Now, what IS the love of God?" We had to think about that one. He had us open up to the scripture that said.."For God so loved the world, that He sent His only Begotten Son" ......Then it "Clicked" We kind of had a revelation moment. We NEVER took Lehi's vision like that. He said "Now, what does that mean the fruit is? Christ is the tree, so what does that make the fruit?" He told us, it is the atonement. We were all,....whoa! I never thought of that before. Then he explained lights. He took us to the time when the time when Samuel the Laminate prophesied about Christ's birth. He said, imagine that you are ten years old again. You are alive when Samuel prophecies of His birth. 6 years go by and people have gotten together and said, you know what? Your belief is foolish. If you don't renounce your membership to your church, we are going to kill you on this day. He said, then let's say that you have a family council and you decide that you aren't going to deny what you believe. If the sign doesn't come then we will die. You go out on a walk in the afternoon and the sun should be going down a bit, and it does. But, it stays light! You were just saved by the light of that sign. Say you are now 45ish years old and you have just come out of the darkness that was prophesied. God and His Son come down and Jesus introduces Himself as the LIGHT and the life of the world. You were saved from being killed about 30 some odd years ago by the light. Jesus introduces Himself as Light! Then he spoke on shepherds. The shepherds that were visited by the angels weren't actually any regular shepherds. Their flocks were flocks that were chosen to be sacrificed as the mosaic law required. They were going to be sacrificed as a representation of Christ and His atonement. Also, Christ often refers to Himself as a Shepard. Now, I hope you are like me, and won't be able to look at any of those Christmas symbols the same way ever again. I will let you know what happened with Jeffrey R. Holland next week, but I am heading to Brother Ware's house. Love you all!
