Favorite Scripture:
Weekly Scripture: Mosiah 3:5,8,17,19 Testimony: I am a child of God. I know He loves me. I know that He loves even the most vile of men that have ever existed. I know that through repentance sins can be forgiven. I know that the atonement is true. I know that Joseph Smith was and still is a prophet of God. I know that God will always love us and that that is the message that the world must know, that He is not a God of wrath, but of love. And that He always will be. And I know these things are true and these things I humbly write in the name of the great Redeemer Jesus Christ, Amen.

Neat Story:
December 18, 2008 First off, bunuelo’s [he mentioned these in a previous mail] are like sweet tortillas in cinnamon and sugar, so if you really want to make flour tortillas just take out the dessert stuff, I think in the ingredient list, I will put the stuff for just tortillas as the first 3 ingredients. (mom, you can make this for the pot lucks!) [we have potlucks every Sunday after church in our branch] Bunuelo’s are traditionally made around the Christmas season. Plus, the dough works also for sopapillas. [See Jonathan's Facebook page for complete letter] But yeah, so how is everyone? My fortune cookie said I was in for a sweet surprise. We’re going to find out. My companion’s said that his magnetizing eyes have attracted a secret admirer. He has been hitting amor with his sneezes lately , he never does that! (1.salud [health] 2. Dinero [money] 3. Amor [love]) [(it must be a Spanish thing] i should grab him some fake girlfriend pictures to ward that off [something else he mentioned in a previous letter]). Anyway, for a Christmas present from the President i got a really cool ornament carved from a Jerusalem olive tree. So i got a cool book the other day while i was down in Denver (i think that i am really sensitive to altitude changes, i got a headache when i returned to Silverthorne) so i got a pretty cool book from Deseret Book, it’s called the little book of missionary reminders. It has some good stuff like keep a toy in your pocket and pull it out when a little kid starts disrupting the lesson (i was way ahead of that one, in Grand Junction i got a little rubiks cube keychain, children of all ages love and hate the cube because i can do it and they can’t...long story of why i can) [last I saw him try to do it he could not] or fun ones like when your investigator leaves the room, swap ties with your companion and see if they notice. (Elder Dominguez won’t do it with me...i miss Elder Davis the Bold at times like that) or ones that i don’t agree with, like try to refrain from referring to other missionaries as studs and don’t wear purple ties (I don’t understand what is wrong with purple ties, I love purple!). Just wrong. Also, it referred to 2 Ne 4:15-35 [This is a beautiful scripture that I will not write as it is very long. Nephi talks about sad he is that he is a sinner and how easy it is to make mistakes, but says that Heavenly Father gives him many blessings anyway. He mentions how merciful and loving the Lord is although Nephi yields to the flesh. It is a pretty scripture that is uplifting and beautiful at the same time.] as Nephi’s psalm, which i had never heard called that before, and looking at it like that, it’s pretty cool. Anyway, that’s enough for today! Call you all next week [Jonathan is able to call us on Christmas Day!]! Maybe even write too! Animo! Elder Jonathan Mackley P.O. Box 6540 Dillon, CO 80435
