Favorite Scripture:
Ether 12:27
And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.

Neat Story:
Congrats to Ryan! My advice to you is to get those papers done and in as fast as you can. Mostly I say that cuz I want to find out where you're going hehehe. I'm thinking it's either South America or Boise Idaho. We'll see soon enough. Thanks for the scripture mom. I actually have Helaman 5:12 memorized. If we are set upon that Rock, which is Jesus Christ, we truly won't fall. This week we're going to have to lay down the law with Eduardo. Either he quits drinking and going crazy or his family is going to have to kick him out. Often times people have to fall all the way before they'll realize that they have to change. Keep him in your prayers guys. It's gonna be rough . On Sat I got to go back to Lawndale for a baptism! Tony got baptized! He's a Samoan guy that I worked with for 6 months. It was also great to go back to visit all my Samoan friends. I even stuffed myself with some Samoan food! I also got to hang out with Elder Banov again. Looking back on the mission I can't believe that I've been out here for that long. I've been priviledged to see 14 people get baptized. Not to mention all the ones from the other missionaries. I've made a lot of good friends in missionaries and in the members of the church. You really have everything going for you when you serve a mission. There is no negative aspect in the experience you gain. It's all a benefit to you. I know that I can use the knowledge I gain here in the future and I've made friends that I know will last a lifetime. One side of me wants to stay but another side of me can't wait to get home. Not because I'm home sick or anything. But rather, because I'm excited to use the new talents and work ethic that I've gained here. Being on mission has helped me to realize the potential that we have in all of us. We are literally sons and daughters of God. That gives us an inherent ability to become anything we put our minds to. I know you've always told me that I could be anything I want when I grow up mom. But I'm not sure that many people really realize how true that statement is. I know I didn't before this. But that's okay because now I do. Our knowledge and understanding of who we truly are in this life is so limited. We really know nothing in comparison to what our Heavenly Father knows. However, with the Restored Gospel we can learn so many amazing things. Anyway, all in all life is good and I'm glad to be here. I don't mean to carry on. I'm actually out of time now ; ) But I'll be writing you all a letter today. I can get more stuff into that. I hope everything goes well with your appointment mom. You've got lots of people praying for you. Keep on catching those Crappies. Just leave some for Matt and I when we get home. I'll probably be on that lake every day for a month! I love you all and I hope you have a great week! Talk to you on Sunday! Much love! Your "Soldier of Metal" Missionary, Elder J. Otis
