Matthew 16:24-26
24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Neat Story:
The work in Burgas is hard.
This past week we had the opportunity to go to a Midnight Mass at the Pravoslav Church. President Bennett gave us permission to be out at midnight. We left around 10:30 and went inside the biggest church in Burgas. It was a very interesting experience. We lit candles and walked around. My honest opinion about it was that I couldn't believe what was happening. It was a joke in my eyes. Just so you know...Bulgarians don't go to church, so on this one night everyone goes to receive forgiveness of their sins. We saw the mayor of Burgas light his candle first. It was interesting seeing him be humble. The night represented Christ's crucifixtion on the cross. We went with some members and they felt really out of place like me. They think Bulgarians need to open their eyes.
